Robert Kaufmann, MD

Dr. Kaufmann is an accomplished clinician, researcher, professor, author and engineer. He is board certified and practiced for decades in Obstetrics and Gynecology and then expanded his focus to include allergy and immunology. Clinical research is Dr. Kaufmann’s life passion. His research spans Women’s health, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Neurology, Allergy and medical use of cannabinoids including almost 100 clinical trials, 35 peer reviewed publications and three chapters in Medical textbooks. Dr. Kaufmann’s roots as an engineer have been invaluable in digitizing the clinical trial experience – from protocol development through database lock, he challenges the status quo and finds ways to make the participant and investigator experience meaningful and easy.
Dr. Kaufmann received his Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, then completed medical school, residency and Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and its Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, respectively. Dr. Kaufmann is board certified by both the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, with a Sub-Specialty of Maternal/Fetal Medicine and the Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy.
